Camilla brings the drama in Dior cape gown, Queen Elizabeth’s sapphires at glittering Versailles dinner

Ooh la la, Camilla.

King Charles III and Queen Camilla attended a glamorous dinner at the Palace of Versailles during the couple’s state visit to France Wednesday, and the queen brought out some meaningful jewels for the occasion.

Camilla, 76, wore Queen Elizabeth II’s sapphire-and-diamond necklace and bracelet for her trip, with the pieces known collectively as the King George VI Victoria Suite, as Maxwell Stone of Steven Stone jewelers said in a press release to Page Six Style.

The necklace and a matching pair of earrings were “gifted to the late monarch by her father on her wedding day in 1947,” according to Stone, with the bracelet later commissioned by Queen Elizabeth in the 1960s.

However, since Camilla doesn’t have pierced ears, she chose to wear a different pair of sapphire-and-diamond clip-on earrings for the dinner, which was hosted by France’s President, Emmanuel Macron, and his wife, Brigitte.

The suite also includes a matching tiara, which Camilla wore for her first state banquet as queen in November along with the same sapphire necklace, although she went tiara-free for Wednesday night’s event.

Along with her earrings, Camilla added her own touches to the look by wearing her beloved Van Cleef & Arpels agate Vintage Alhambra bracelet ($4,800) along with another gold piece, sporting a second sapphire-and-diamond bracelet on her other wrist.

She paired the sparkling gems with a matching custom navy gown from Dior with braided detail at the waist, topping the dress off with a sweeping cape and carrying a coordinating blue clutch.

The King chose a classic black tuxedo, as did President Macron, and Madame Macron coordinated with Camilla, wearing a navy evening gown with rhinestone detail at the neck, waist and cuffs as the foursome walked a red carpet leading into the historic palace.

Earlier in the day, Camilla looked pretty in pink for her arrival to Paris, wearing a pastel pink Fiona Clare coat dress with a coordinating Philip Treacy hat and carrying a taupe Charlotte Elizabeth handbag ($445) that was once carried by Meghan Markle.

And while she wasn’t wearing storied gemstones from her late mother-in-law, Camilla did take a page out of the monarch’s playbook by wearing a triple-strand pearl necklace as she touched down in France.
