Kate Middleton wears beige power suit as Prince William visits NYC to promote Earthshot Prize

She’s getting down to business.

Kate Middleton chose a very corporate look as she headed to a London charity on Tuesday, wearing a beige trouser suit and simple white tee while her husband is visiting New York to engage in meetings surrounding the Earthshot Prize.

The Princess of Wales, 41, wore a tan version of the burgundy Roland Mouret suit she debuted in Boston last December for a day at youth organization Streets of Growth, pairing the label’s single-breasted blazer with wide-legged pants.

Although the pieces are no longer available in the same camel color, royal fans can recreate the look with the blazer ($955) and trousers ($510) in a red colorway.

Middleton went with a basic white top underneath and Gianvito Rossi suede heels ($755), accessorizing with only an old favorite pair of Kiki McDonough citrine drop earrings ($2,410).

Meanwhile, Prince William went for more casual attire as he got down and dirty in NYC Monday to take part in a sustainability initiative in the East River.

The Prince of Wales, 41, wore a baseball cap, a light blue button-up shirt and a pair of waders with a lifevest as he headed into the water with the Billion Oysters Project, meeting with student volunteers who are helping to restore oyster reefs in New York Harbor.

He’s visiting the Big Apple to promote the Earthshot Prize, taking part in meetings regarding sustainability ahead of the 2023 awards ceremony in Singapore this November.

Some royal fans were quick to point out that Kate’s pricey new suit didn’t exactly match up with William’s sustainable message.

“This is a brand new suit. She already has a same suit in a different colour. You would think wearing repeat will be more appropriate while he is in NYC preaching about sustainability?” the Royal Fashion Police Instagram account wrote in response to a comment wondering if Middleton was purposely “trying to not draw too much attention to herself” during her husband’s trip.

“More important than preaching sustainability is living sustainably,” another fan commented. “Wearing new and expensive clothes almost every day, almost the same as many others you already own, certainly shows us that environmental concern seems fragile.”

Optics aside, plenty of royal fashion fans seemed uninspired by the beige look, with one writing, “I’m a fan of the more professional corporate look in general but there needs to be some imagination and inspiration behind it. This feels like she’s given up.”

Others compared her suit to Meghan Markle’s frequent neutral outfits she wore during the Invictus Games last week, with one Twitter user writing, “LOL Copying Meghan’s clothes AGAIN.”

After showing off a range of trouser suits in recent days, it seems like Kate’s new uniform shows no signs of stopping.
