Sources have sworn Kylie Jenner’s relationship with Timothée Chalamet is “not serious,” but her highly symbolic bauble might suggest otherwise.
The makeup mogul posted an Instagram Stories snap from her private jet on Instagram Tuesday, clad in a summery floral Dôen Stanza Dress ($298), pearl earrings from Chanel — and a Cartier Trinity Ring ($1,570) on her left-hand ring finger.
The signature Cartier design dates back to 1924 and “has become a symbol of life’s most paramount relationships” in the decades since, per the jeweler’s website.
The ring’s three intertwined bands — made from rose, yellow and white gold — symbolize love, fidelity and friendship, respectively.
While the first-ever Trinity ring was made for French poet and playwright Jean Cocteau, the style’s been worn by Hollywood icons like Grace Kelly and Gary Cooper, and is favored by modern-day stars like Adele, Eva Mendes and Gwyneth Paltrow.
The Trinity line (which also includes necklaces, earrings and bracelets) even has the royal family’s stamp of approval; Princess Diana often wore her triple-band Cartier ring, and Kate Middleton has stepped out in several Trinity pieces too.
What’s more, Chalamet has been a Cartier ambassador since 2021.
Jenner, 25, has been spotted in plenty of Cartier gems in the past, but this particular ring appears to be new to her collection — and its debut comes just two weeks after she was seen leaving her rumored boyfriend’s Beverly Hills home.
Since dating speculation began swirling around the duo in early April, Jenner’s been snapped coming and going from the 27-year-old “Dune” actor’s house several times, and the pair were also photographed grabbing tacos.
Insiders downplayed their courtship at first, saying Jenner was “open to seeing where things go” and keeping things “fun” and “casual” with Chalamet.
But earlier this month, a source told Us Weekly the couple “have been spending much more time together and they’re growing much closer as the days go by.”
They also said several members of Jenner’s family, including sister Kendall and mom Kris, have already met her rumored beau and “absolutely approve of them dating.”

Still, it’s worth noting that Jenner has worn rings on that finger before without any plans to walk down the aisle.
In March 2022, she sparked engagement rumors with on-again, off-again partner Travis Scott by showing off two rings on the same digit, both also from Cartier — including what appeared to be a literal wedding band from the brand.
Considering Jenner and Scott reportedly split for the umpteenth time around the holidays (and that the mom of two has since moved on with someone new), it would seem those diamonds weren’t forever.
