Ex-Giant Luke Petitgout arrested for attacking Carbone staff, pal pulls gun

Troubled former New York Giants player Luke Petitgout — who served a month in jail for harassing his wife and her date in 2015 and was found in possession of drugs in 2016 — was arrested at scenery eatery Carbone in Miami early Sunday after a fistfight with waitstaff that led to his friend James Philip Bruner pulling a gun on staff at the swanky Italian joint, according to police reports.

The arrest affidavit provided to Page Six by Miami Beach police states that according to “witnesses and victims,” both Petitgout and his pal “were causing a disturbance with the restaurant’s staff, preventing them from commencing their closing procedures. An argument ensued with both defendants and the restaurant staff, which consequently became physical.”

Three victims claimed to cops that Petitgout “struck” them “with a closed fist” during the melee, while another stated that he “purposefully pushed him in the midst of the altercation.”

One staffer at the restaurant — whose original New York location is beloved of Rihanna and the Hadid sisters, among many other stars — alleged that after he was hit “with a closed fist” by Petitgout during the brawl, Bruner “produced a firearm and pointed it directly at him.”

According to the report, a witness recorded the fight on her cellphone.

Both Petitgout and Bruner were arrested and taken to the station, where they were processed and sent to Turner Giulford Knight Correct Center.

Petitgout has a long history of run-ins with the law. He served time in prison in 2015 after allegedly slapping his estranged wife, Jennifer Petitgout, and punching her companion John Constantinides while the pair were on a date at a Midtown lounge. He was convicted only of harassment and acquitted of attempted assault following a trial in Manhattan Criminal Court.

Petitgout was being held Tuesday evening at the Bergen County Jail on $50,000 bail, according to sheriff’s office records. He was charged with sexual assault with force and simple assault.

In 2016, he was given one year of probation and anger management for assaulting his ex-wife in a separate incident that involved him allegedly sexually assaulting and choking her.

He had also been arrested on his wedding anniversary in 2013 for smashing his ex-wife’s head with her purse and throwing her out of a car. The charges were dropped.

In 2016, he was pulled over by cops in New Jersey while allegedly intoxicated and with drugs including cocaine, amphetamines, steroids, marijuana and ethylone (a psychedelic amphetamine designer drug), according to law enforcement at the time. He was sentenced to three years of probation.

Notre Dame grad Petitgout played for the Giants from 1999 to 2006 before moving on to the Tampa Bay Bucaneers, where he was suspended for steroid use. He played for the Bucs for a single season.

Carbone declined to comment on the incident.

There was no response from Petitgout’s last known lawyer at press time.
